Snoop Dogg is returning to the acting world with his upcoming movie, The Underdoggs. The West Coast rap legend recently took to his social media to announce the exciting news.

Snoop Dogg is returning to Hollywood and is set to star in the upcoming film, The Underdoggs. The two-minute trailer showcases the rapper/entrepreneur taking on the role of Jaycen “Two Js” Jennings, a washed-up former pro football star who gets into legal trouble. 

After being in court, he does community service as a coach for a struggling youth football team in his hometown. During his time coaching, he decides to turn his life around and rediscover his love of the game.

Fans Get Ready For Some Comedy

Fans on Twitter (X) expressed their excitement after watching the trailer for The Underdoggs. User @GregoryHaines18 commented, “This looks really good to me. Can’t wait to see it. Looks like a cross of the longest yard and hardball,” while @Lebowski76 added, “Ok, this looks funny as hell.” 

Not only is Snoop Dogg starring in the film, but he is also serving as a producer alongside renowned television and film producer Kenya Barris. The movie features a star-studded cast, including Tika Sumpter, Andrew Schulz, Mike Epps, George Lopez, and a cameo appearance by former NFL star Tony Gonzalez. 

The Underdoggs is set to be released exclusively on Prime Video on January 26, 2024. 

Snoop On The Move

In a surprising announcement in November 2023, Snoop Dogg made headlines when he declared he was “giving up smoke.” 

Fans were left questioning whether the rap icon was truly giving up smoking marijuana. However, it was revealed that the announcement was a promotion for the fire pit brand, Solo Stove. 

Earlier in September, Snoop Dogg shared a teaser for another film titled The Big Payback on his social media platforms. The teaser featured the Los Angeles rapper holding a gun, leaving viewers in suspense. More details about this upcoming project are yet to be revealed. 

Jay-Z’s ‘The Book of Clarence’

Another rap legend, Jay-Z, recently shared the trailer for his upcoming film, The Book Of Clarence. Produced by Jay-Z himself, the movie stars LaKeith Stanfield, Omar Sy, Alfre Woodard, Caleb McLaughlin, and others. The biblical epic is scheduled to be released on January 12, 2024.
