
The Soufriere Mini Stadium was filled on Saturday, June 27, with families, dignitaries, sponsors and supporters who came together to celebrate beauty, culture, talent and the spirit of Lucian Carnival. Five impressive delegates took the stage at the annual Miss Soufriere Carnival pageant, captivating the audience.
The contestants competing for the crown were Triana Busette (Miss Sugar Beach), Ella Albert (Miss MBC/Real FM), Lovely Son (Miss B&B Money Savers), Tamis Modeste (Miss Saint Lucia Daily Post) and Hailey Reid (Miss Soufriere Experiences).
After a strong performance in every part of the competition, Tamis Modeste was named Soufriere Carnival Queen 2026.
Lovely Son was the first runner-up, and Triana Busette was the second runner-up.
Although the official prizes will be given out at a closing ceremony later this year, the delegates were recognised on Saturday in several categories and received gift certificates from generous small businesses in Soufriere.
The awards went to: Tamis Modeste (Miss Saint Lucia Daily Post) for Miss Photogenic, People’s Choice, Best in Costume, Best Evening Wear, Best in Evening Wear, and Best Interview; Triana Busette (Miss Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort) for Miss Congeniality; and Lovely Son (Miss B&B Money Savers) for Best Ambassadorial Address, Best Swimwear, Best in Swimwear, Best Talent and Best Costume.
The Soufriere Carnival will end on Sunday, July 26, starting with J’ouvert at 4 a.m., and followed by the bands’ parade in the afternoon. The last lap jump-up will take place on Monday, July 27.
