Ahead of its highly anticipated Philippine release, the upcoming horror film Backrooms is taking fans deeper into its terrifying universe through the Backrooms Breakout, an immersive horror escape room experience happening from May 23 to June 7 at Shangri-La Plaza.

Organized by CreaZion Studios in collaboration with Breakout Philippines, the attraction allows participants to physically step into the eerie world inspired by the viral internet horror phenomenon that terrified millions online.
The experience recreates the unsettling liminal spaces, endless yellow hallways, distorted rooms, and suspense-filled atmosphere that made Backrooms a global obsession.
Participants are given only 20 minutes to solve puzzles, uncover clues, and escape the mysterious maze-like environment before time runs out. The attraction heavily challenges players’ analytical thinking, teamwork, mathematical skills, and problem-solving abilities while maintaining an intense horror atmosphere throughout the game.
The immersive setup has already drawn attention from content creators, bloggers, and horror fans who described the experience as both mentally challenging and suspenseful, making it an ideal activity for groups of friends and thrill-seekers.
As part of the promotional event, selected guests were also provided with GoPro cameras to document their experience inside the escape room.

The Backrooms Breakout serves as a chilling lead-up to the Philippine theatrical release of the film on June 3, 2026.
Directed by Kane Parsons — the creator behind the original viral Backrooms videos — the feature adaptation stars Academy Award nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor and Cannes Best Actress winner Renate Reinsve. The film is produced by A24 and has quickly become one of the most talked-about horror releases of the year.
Guests who wish to enter the Backrooms Breakout must present a pre-purchased Backrooms movie ticket from Shangri-La Red Carpet Cinemas. Each movie ticket corresponds to one player admission to the attraction.
Reservations may also be made online, although slots are limited. Only 20 game schedules are available daily, with six players per batch. The experience runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
For horror fans and curious thrill-seekers, the challenge is simple: Can you survive the Backrooms?
