Shake The Table: LeBron James ‘Disappointed’ Media Hasn’t Asked About Jerry Jones’s Viral Desegregation Photo Like Kyrie Irving’s Comments
The Lakers 2022-2023 season has been off to a shaky start without a win in the pre-season. To add to the dysfunction LeBron James had a minor injury and missed a few games but Anthony Davis stepped up. Last night the Lakers caught a very dominate 128-109 win over the Trailblazers. When the media wanted to talk about the win and the Lakers issues LeBron had questions of his own.
LeBron James Questions Why The Media Hasn’t Asked Him About Jerry Jones Viral Picture Attending 1957 Desegregation Rally Like They Did About Kyrie Irving’s Recent Comments
During the post-game press conference LeBron James decided to shake the table. For weeks reporters have asked his opinion on the drama surrounding Kyrie Irving and anti-semitic allegations. Last week photos surfaced of Jerry Jones attending a 1957 Segregation rally at his high school surfaced online. Jones claimed he was there out of curiosity and was held accountable by his football team. Last night LeBron asked reporters why they haven’t mentioned it to him like Kyrie’s drama and even told them not to reply.
“I got one question for you guys before you guys leave. I was thinking when I was on my way over here, I was wondering why I haven’t gotten a question from you guys about the Jerry Jones photo,” James said. “But when the Kyrie thing was going on, you guys were quick to ask us questions about that.”
LeBron stated he doesn’t like how when Black athletes do something wrong, it’s on “every single tabloid, every single news coverage, it’s on the bottom ticker. It’s asked about every single day.”
“But it seems like to me that the whole Jerry Jones situation, photo — and I know it was years and years ago and we all make mistakes, I get it — but it seems like it’s just been buried under, like, ‘Oh, it happened. OK, we just move on.’ And I was just kind of disappointed that I haven’t received that question from you guys.”
Just as Jerry Jones’ photo was being swept under the rug, LeBron pulled the rug completely. The “curious” excuse for being in the photo might not hold up anymore.
You can watch the post-game interview below.
For all those who are saying it doesn’t make sense for the media to ask LeBron about this, keep in mind he grew up as a Cowboys fan and recently said he no longer supports the Cowboys because of Jerry Jones’ response to Colin Kaepernick’s protest. LeBron is spot on. https://t.co/t8rEEMfgc7
